The Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry of Postgraduate Education of the A.A. Bogomolets NMU successfully conducted a cycle of thematic improvement ‘Basic techniques of cataract phacoemulsification’ on the clinical base in the ‘German Eye Clinic’.
The classes included both theoretical part and a unique opportunity of live surgery, which allowed the students to gain practical knowledge and experience in one of the most important areas of ophthalmic surgery. New opportunities – new horizons: this is how we can characterise the results of the past cycle.
Special thanks to surgeon PhD Andrey Zhuk, as well as lecturers PhD Konstantin Korobov and PhD Vladimir Sanin, who shared their knowledge and professional experience with the participants. Thanks to the lecturers of the department and invited experts, the event was held at the highest level.
Special attention should be paid to Professor Sergey Alexandrovich Rykov, who made an invaluable contribution to the organisation and conduct of this cycle. His experience and expertise helped the participants to master advanced methods of cataract phacoemulsification and gain a deeper understanding of clinical aspects of surgery.
The high level of clinical facilities at the German Eye Clinic allowed the participants to appreciate the clinical cases presented and the detailed analysis of each surgery. The trainees expressed their delight with the quality of training, demonstrated technologies and practical approaches to cataract surgery.
We congratulate all the participants and teachers of the department on the successful completion of the cycle! Continuous professional development of specialists is the key to effective and high-quality ophthalmological care.
