A specialized course in laser retinal surgery is underway at the Training and Education Center of the German Eye Clinic, aimed at preparing ophthalmologists to work with pathologies of the posterior segment of the eye.
The course program combines thorough theoretical preparation, analysis of clinical cases and intensive practical training on modern laser equipment under the guidance of experienced specialists.
During the training, doctors master modern approaches to laser treatment of retinal diseases, learn to correctly determine indications for the procedure, choose the optimal treatment strategy and take into account each patient’s individual characteristics.
The course covers treatment methods for the following conditions:
- severe diabetic retinopathy, including proliferative forms;
- retinal vein thrombosis and its complications;
- ischemic retinal lesions;
- macular edema;
- peripheral retinal dystrophies and retinal tears.
Special attention is paid to the safe performance of laser procedures, prevention of possible complications, proper treatment planning and patient management after laser coagulation.
Training is conducted in the following formats:
- thematic lectures;
- clinical case discussions;
- practical work with patients;
- training on modern laser systems;
- professional discussion of complex clinical situations.
The course is aimed at doctors from Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine who seek to raise their professional level, improve practical skills and implement modern methods of laser retinal treatment in their own clinical practice.
