A three-day master class PHACO-WETLAB 101: “Basic Principles of Cataract Surgery” was successfully held at the Training Center of the German Eye Clinic.
Over three days, ophthalmologists from different regions of Ukraine underwent intensive training, combining theoretical preparation, practical sessions and professional exchange of experience.
The training course was held under the guidance of the clinic’s scientific consultant and medical director, Professor O.P. Vitovska, as well as associate professors of the Department of Adult and Pediatric Ophthalmology of the Shupyk National Healthcare University of Ukraine — O.Yu. Denysiuk and A.O. Hulida
A special highlight of the master class was a lecture by renowned cataract surgeon Luis Real, during which participants were able to discuss the specifics of surgical technique at different stages of cataract.
The practical part of the training took place on modern equipment from Alcon and Rekah Ukraine. Participants practiced key stages of cataract surgery — from basic skills to the subtleties of manual technique — on artificial eye models and a virtual surgical simulator.
The master class became an important platform for enhancing professional expertise, exchanging clinical experience and improving practical skills in modern cataract surgery.
Three days of intensive training, dozens of hours of practice, new professional contacts and valuable experience — another important step in the development of cataract surgery in Ukraine.
The German Eye Clinic thanks all participants, lecturers and partners for the high level of professional cooperation and shared commitment to improving ophthalmic care in Ukraine.
